Closing The Loop; Recycled Fibre Textiles

In 2015, we introduced our first swimwear designs using a base cloth featuring revolutionary Econyl ® polyamide fibre made from 100% regenerated material. Here we share the facts about this revolutionary addition to our swim collections and why we are committed to making educated changes towards better processes, practices and conditions for the industry we love so much.

Our sittana scoop bra and paranga pant are not only reversible, but made with Econyl ® polyamide fibre made from 100% regenerated material.

It all begins with our love for bikinis...

At Tigerlily we love knitted textiles and are confident we have chosen the best mills to work with based on quality, sustainability and environmentally sound production methods. Working with three main mills since the very beginning based in Italy & France, producing 90% of our swimwear base fabrications our mill partners hold international accreditation such as OEKO TEX Standard 100 and Reach, both strict European standards for chemical compliance and treatment for fabrics.

swim fabrics using recycled nylon...the future

Recycled Nylon fibres have come a long way… We know that the quality of these fabrics are very high and production methods are environmentally sound, from both extensive mill research and testing internally over many years. In 2015, we introduced our very first swimwear designs using a base cloth featuring revolutionary Econyl ® polyamide fibre made from 100% regenerated material and love the quality, hand feel and performance we are achieving with designs made from these fabrics. With further designs in works for 2017 ongoing we aim to grow our offer of regenerated bases substantially.

Our sittana scoop bra and paranga pant are not only reversible, but made with Econyl ® polyamide fibre made from 100% regenerated material.

Econyl ® yarn is made from post-consumer nylon waste such as old carpets and fishing nets that litter our oceans. The team behind Econyl ® have developed a closed loop process for creating this groundbreaking yarn with the following sustainable objectives:

  • saving fossil fuels
  • cleaning up the oceans
  • giving new life to old waste
  • halving co2 emissions compared with Nylon using oil
  • 100% regenerated
  • 100% regenerable infinitely
